Is that a long time in the tech world?
According to global studies, only one out of three IT companies makes it past the 10-year mark — let alone three full decades. During this period, the IT sector evolved faster than most other industries. And Solvo evolved with it.
For 30 years, we’ve been part of the global digital transformation — developing technologies that grow alongside real business needs. This is our history, in six chapters.
1995–2000: From calculators to code
The late 1990s brought the internet boom. Personal computers entered the workplace. Google was founded. Microsoft launched Windows 95 and 98. Digital infrastructure began its rapid expansion.
- In 1995, Solvo was founded to develop software for logistics automation.
- In 1996, we launched Solvo.WMS — a warehouse management system focused on real operational processes, not just recordkeeping.
- In 1999, we released Solvo.CTMS — a container terminal operating system that introduced digital workflows into a largely Excel-based industry.
From the beginning, Solvo focused on engineering independence and real-world integration.
2001–2005: From PCs to infrastructure
The 2000s ushered in a new era of mobile devices, cloud services and business systems. ERP, WMS, MES, and other digital platforms became essential to modern operations.
- In 2001, Solvo completed its first full-scale terminal automation project.
- In 2004, Solvo.CTMS expanded into international markets.
- In 2005, Solvo.WMS integrated with automated storage systems — a milestone for large-scale industrial and pharmaceutical deployments.
By 2005, Solvo had over 50 projects in its portfolio and began delivering fully adapted solutions for complex facilities.
2006–2010: The rise of mobility and the cloud
The world discovered cloud collaboration (Google Docs, Dropbox, AWS) and smart devices. API integration and cross-platform flexibility became key requirements in the IT landscape — and software vendors had to adapt quickly.
- In 2006, Solvo was recognized as a leader in logistics automation at an industry competition.
- In 2008, we launched Solvo.DMS — a document management system that later became part of Solvo.TOS.
- In 2010, Solvo.WMS transitioned to Java, added robot and voice-picking integrations, and introduced billing features. Solvo.TOS added visual topology and a web portal module.
By 2010, Solvo had implemented over 100 projects and strengthened its focus on integration and user-oriented design.
2011–2015: Big data, IoT and interface simplicity
Mobile devices became the norm — not just for consumers, but across industry. The logistics world embraced big data, IoT, and real-time tracking. Systems became more connected, more adaptive, and more intuitive.
- In 2013, Solvo.WMS introduced web portal access and launched remote warehouse modules.
- In 2014, Solvo.TOS expanded to handle breakbulk cargo. Solvo.YMS — our yard management system — debuted as a new product.
- In 2015, Solvo.TOS was implemented at a railway terminal, introducing automated wagon loading planning.
With over 200 completed projects by 2015, Solvo strengthened its expertise across sectors and logistics models.
2016–2020: Full-scale digitalization — and a stress test
The fourth industrial revolution brought cloud architecture, data platforms and edge devices to the mainstream. And then came the COVID-19 pandemic — accelerating digital transformation and remote operations.
- In 2018, Solvo.TOS began supporting all cargo types. Solvo.WMS added modules for product marking and serialization.
- In 2019, Solvo.TOS launched a mobile app for tally clerks. Solvo.WMS passed stress tests with 400M serial codes processed per day.
- In 2020, Solvo successfully completed a major project remotely during the pandemic.
Our systems became even more adaptive: remote deployment, PostgreSQL support, and migration away from vendor-locked platforms.
2021–2025: Intelligence, modularity and long-term reliability
Digitalization became non-optional. Machine learning, video analytics, digital twins, and AI assistants made their way from R&D labs into daily B2B operations.
- In 2023, Solvo.WMS successfully migrated to Linux and PostgreSQL for select projects.
- In 2024, we launched a line of rugged industrial tablets and began collaborating with technical universities.
- In 2025, Solvo.TOS is being integrated with autonomous tractors and cranes. We also introduced a VR simulator for logistics training and added native serialization integration into Solvo.WMS.
We continue to prioritize resilience, modularity and adaptability — no matter the complexity of the task.
30 years of making logistics work
The technologies have changed.
So have the platforms, the expectations, and the scale of the challenges.
But our mission remains the same:
To build systems that stand the test of time and respond to the real needs of industry.
