A Mobile App for Drivers: Automate Your Yard Management

Mobile App for Drivers to Automate Yard Management

What makes Solvo.YMS a perfect yard automation system?

The system streamlines operations at every stage, from logistics managers to drivers. A key component of the automation implemented on one of our projects is a mobile app created from the ground up by the Solvo team to simplify driver registration and navigation.

Here’s how the app works in practice:

  • Pre-Arrival Registration: Drivers can register in the app before entering the facility, all without leaving their vehicle or using a self-service terminal. There’s no need for an RFID pass either.
  • Automatic Vehicle Recognition: As the vehicle approaches the barrier, the registration plates are automatically scanned by controllers and a video recognition system. This data is sent to Solvo.YMS instantly.
  • Instant Gate Access: If the vehicle is scheduled to arrive at a specific time, Solvo.YMS grants permission for the gate to open. The system’s quick verification ensures the vehicle never needs to stop moving.
  • Dock Assignment and Data Transfer: Upon arrival at the assigned dock, a warehouse employee records the vehicle’s presence, and the dispatcher receives the updated data in real-time.
  • Navigation and Real-Time Notifications: The app provides turn-by-turn navigation for drivers via push notifications. This helps them stay on track, follow the correct route, and adhere to specific timelines. Best of all, the notifications are provided at no extra cost for SMS delivery to the client.
  • Seamless Identification: The driver is identified by the auto visit number assigned by the system, and all additional data is automatically loaded.
