Let’s get into Solvo’s first visit to Jordan!
In April 2025, the Solvo team took part in the Transport Middle East Exhibition and Conference, held in Aqaba, Jordan’s only seaport city. The event brought together leading regional players to explore key trends in maritime and cargo logistics — and for Solvo, it marked the first-ever visit to Jordan.
Behind the Scenes: Technical Tour of Aqaba’s Port and Logistics Infrastructure
The event kicked off with a technical site visit to key logistics and port facilities in Aqaba. Our team had the opportunity to observe port operations from the water, including those at Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) and neighboring terminals. We also visited the Aqaba Digital Hub, a major digital ecosystem for cloud infrastructure and high-performance connectivity, and the Aqaba Logistics Village, a large-scale logistics complex managed by APM Terminals.
Another stop was Nafith’s Hinterland Community System Command and Control Centre, where we saw firsthand how advanced technologies are being used to streamline truck entry and cargo flow management in real time.
Keynotes from Industry Leaders: Opening the Transport Middle East 2025
On April 16, the exhibition and conference officially opened with speeches from key figures in Jordan’s logistics and port sectors, including:
- H.E. Nayef Himiedi Al-Fayez, Chief Commissioner, Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA)
- H.E. Eng. Wesam Al Tahtamouni, Minister of Transport
- H.E. Hussein Al-Safadi, CEO, Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC)
- Jonathan Goldner, Chief Executive – Asia & Middle East, APM Terminals
Though the event was largely attended by local participants, it provided a valuable opportunity to connect with key representatives from Jordan’s logistics industry and showcase Solvo’s capabilities in automating port and warehouse operations. Many meaningful conversations were had, laying the foundation for future cooperation.
